Owner Review: Tudor Black Bay 36 – The “Less is More” watch

I still remember the first time I went to the Rolex and Tudor boutique looking for the Tudor Black Bay 36. The sales professional, who I didn’t end up getting it from by the way, told me that the 36mm size was considered by modern standards a women’s watch. Boy, I am so glad that I walked out of that store and bought it from a local jeweler. They were very happy to order this watch for me and even gave me a better price. Customer service as it should be.

So the waiting period began, as they told me that the watch would take 2 weeks to arrive. While I was waiting I started to worry about the size. “Would it look too small? Would I really like it?” After all, it is a $2,800 watch, that isn’t small change. Then it arrived and the first time I put it on my wrist I knew… This watch is perfect for my six inch wrist.

You can feel the Rolex DNA in almost every aspect of this watch, just like an OP 36, the bracelet and clasp are top notch, the movement, a modified ETA 2824 that works flawlessly and the dial simple and sporty but refined and elegant at the same time. Everything someone could want from a watch.

I have worn it in a suit for work meetings/weddings or with jeans and a t-shirt for more casual events. I have taken it to the mountains as well as the beach. With this little guy I have a truly every day watch. I´ve never owned a Rolex and I probably never will, but you can´t imagine how many times friends and family have seen the watch and thought it was a Rolex.

I just proudly say: No It’s my Tudor Black Bay 36.
