Having owned the Pepsi BLRO in stainless steel, my next natural progression was to also own a Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi Meteorite 126719BLRO.

The meteorite dial is an extremely special piece to me, as no two dials are identical. As most Rolex sport models have the same 40mm cases and only 2 versions of different bracelets, this particular model really stood out. It was a way of being different from the rest. Since each piece is unique, that also means getting a dial you like, would depend hugely on your luck as well!

Fortunately for me, mine turned out beautifully – the metallic pattern and colour were exactly to my liking. The dial has many different facets to it, depending much on the reflection angle and lighting. It definitely has a very mysterious feel about it, and being able to own a piece of rock from outer space and to be able to wear it on your wrist is indeed very special.

Like all Rolex sport models in precious metal – the white gold case and oyster bracelet are very susceptible to being scratched and dented. So extreme care has to be taken while wearing this piece. While this is still within my tolerance level, it might not be very comfortable lugging around this hefty piece on your wrist on a daily basis, especially if you are used to wearing stainless steel pieces.

As for the movement, it comes with the 3285 calibre with 70 hours power reserve – within my acceptable range.

As a watch lover, I love the feel and fit of  the Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi Meteorite on my wrist. If you ever get a chance to own one, I do not see any other reasons from holding you back, besides being able to get your hands on one! Definitely a conversation piece and a very versatile watch, which isn’t too flashy for any occasion. A very rare and special piece!
