Since I got the Rolex bug last year, there has been one watch that has caught my eye since the days that stemmed from getting my Oyster Perpetual 116000 blue dial. There was another blue dial watch that I couldn’t get off my mind. Why? Maybe because the dial is so mesmerizing, with that green sapphire crystal, the lightning bolt second hand in orange which complements that z blue dial so nicely. The truth is I had a Rolex budget of $17,000. So as you can tell I had a fair amount of choices I could have selected. But it was the Rolex Milgauss Z blue that kept calling me, the second I bought it and got it on wrist it finally all came full circle. I didn’t want a sub or explorer that I had in the past. I reached the point in my mind that this was my grail.
The watch wears very nicely on the wrist. Now I have a 7.25 inch wrist. The lovey part about Rolex is that in most of their steel models they feature a 5mm easy link extension system in their clasps. When my wrist swells up I can use it to my advantage and get the perfect fit in any situation. I truly can not find anything wrong with this watch whatsoever in my eyes. But wait, I forgot, there is one thing…
Polished center links. Man it’s a pain to get those all scratched up. So I’m very careful when wearing the watch, almost like stepping on needles. The 904L steel however, makes up for this as it is much easier to polish, without destroying the integrity of the watch itself. For $8200 I would say you get a high end Rolex, which in my eyes is a lot of bang for your buck. I don’t need to worry about my watch being magnetized either which is comforting. Now I will address an issue that some people tend to have with the milgauss because it is substantially thicker than other models. However I would challenge that and say, unless you go and try one on for yourself, you can’t make this judgment. The Rolex Milgauss Z Blue is truly superlative.
