Owner Review: Holthinrichs Raw Ornament

Holthinrichs Raw Ornament

There is much more to this Holthinrichs Raw Ornament watch than at first meets the eye. Its wearability cannot be totally understood without having it on the wrist. The details of the case can not be fully appreciated without taking it off the strap and staring at it from multiple angles. The movement is hand finished and it’s as captivating as the case to the point that you could be forgiven for wearing the watch upside down.

The creativity and passion that brought this watch to life is invisible without spending time on YouTube watching interviews with Michiel Holthinrichs or listening to the Fifth Wrist Podcast where he was a guest. The watch has a history of development and a story behind it, that once understood, adds to its multifaceted appeal.

Having worn this watch for over 9 months now I am constantly amazed by the attention it gets from watch collectors and non watch people alike. Somehow the deep roots of Michiel’s architectural background and his desire to create impactful ornaments is apparent. It’s such a refreshing timepiece, it’s a real pleasure to own and I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon the brand.

With the Holthinrichs Raw Ornament, the aesthetics combine with the silky smooth, artistically finished and perfectly regulated movement to offer a wrist dominating, life long addition to the collection. I’ve recently seen some of the new creations that will be coming from Holthinrichs in the future and I’m sure it won’t be long until I order a stable mate for this one!
