Our mission

Our Mission

At Fifth Wrist we want to change the watch journalism landscape. We plan to remove brand marketing intervention from the mix and replace it with genuine input from actual end users.

E-commerce is growing year on year and shoppers are more open to purchasing luxury goods online than ever before. Educating potential customers will allow us to increase the possibility of a positive outcome by the end of their watch selection process. The website will also offer genuine and raw feedback for the brands to work from. This will allow them to innovate and increase customer satisfaction.

How will we do this? The reviews on the site will be provided by the global watch community. This creates a barrier between the people who run the site and brand marketing influence. We have no control over how people review their own watches, so this keeps that site as honest as possible. The people who run the site will not take donations in any form from watch brands. Unlike other websites, we will provide actual ratings for the watches. From a top score of 100, you will be able to see just how highly regarded each watch is by the owner. Mandatory pros and cons will be required for every timepiece. You will also be able to see the wrist size of the reviewer. Further helping the customer to match the watch to their body and lifestyle.

Fifth Wrist is the watch community. Sharing knowledge and educating each other. Looking out for our fellow enthusiasts. The founding members of this project are a group of watch enthusiasts specially selected by me. I selected them because they are not afraid to talk about the positives and the negatives of watches that they love. You can find out more about them here. We welcome as much involvement from members of the community as they are willing to give. People who started off by reviewing their watch, now host their own show on our podcast network. Serving the watch community and helping to preserve the art of horology should always be our driving force. I hope that this project will offer all of us a better chance to enjoy this hobby and give us a more transparent view of the watch industry.

Nothing should ever feel disingenuous about the fifth wrist but that all depends on who wants to get involved. This is our project so let’s get started. It’s time.

Kind regards

Alex

“You can only die rich if you have given back when you’re alive. If you die and you have forgotten or had no time to give back, you die poor. You die like a stone, with no use. I want to give back to my people, to my brands.”
