The already legendary Seiko Presage Cocktail Time SRPB43 is one of the classiest dress watches in the entire Seiko line, it is even widely regarded as classy by luxury Swiss watch standards. Let’s get started by focussing on the real selling point of this watch, yes, you guessed it, we are talking about that mesmerizing cocktail time dial.

The dial in question features a stunningly beautiful sunray effect which changes colour from almost white to azure blue depending on the light. It is really amazing how the dial changes every single time that you look at it. New colours, new shades and a different depth to the dial will make you think that you’re wearing a different watch every time you strap this watch on your lucky wrist. The only way to fully understand my description of this watch is to see it in the metal.

Seiko is famous in the watch world for not having the best straps and bracelets in the more affordable end of their catalogue. The Cocktail Time actually really surprised me though. It is made of a soft and shiny black leather with a nice deployant clasp upgrade and is extremely comfortable on my slightly below average 6.25 inch wrist. Pair that with a 40 mm case size and it makes this watch incredibly wearable for everyone.

But the Seiko Presage Cocktail Time SRPB43 is sadly far from perfect. The crown on this model is too big for this particular size of watch and it can end up being uncomfortable as it rubs against the wearer’s wrist (thuis could be worse the bigger the wrist). I am also not a huge fan of them using a display caseback on this model. It doesn’t seem warranted at all and is pretty much useless because the movement is a utilitarian and undecorated Seiko caliber 4R35.
