Owner review: Hermes Sesame SM1.710

Hermes Sesame SM1.710

I have been considering adding a skeleton watch to my collection. I have always been fascinated by the open dial where you are able to view the movement and all the components of the watch.

While browsing watch boutiques I happen to come across the Hermes Sesame SM1.710. It really caught my eye. It seems that skeleton watches from more prestigious watch brands command at least 20k and above.

The stepped case and the perlage finishing on the Hermes Sesame SM1.710 looks pretty awesome to me. As I continued to look learn about this watch and look for another I soon learnt that none were available and it was already discontinued. I could only look at photos and information available online.

Having a small wrist doesn’t help as most Skeleton watches currently available on the market tend to be on the larger size.

I do like some Hermès watches, but admittedly did not consider them till I saw this.

Just 1 month before my birthday, happen to see one become available on Chrono 24. The rest is history as they say.

This was the first time I purchased a watch without seeing it in person or trying it on my wrist.

The 35.5mm diameter and a 8mm thick profile makes it fit like a glove on my wrist. I am very glad I pulled the trigger on this one. It was really better than I have expected.

To date the Hermes Sesame SM1.710 is the watch that I get asked about the most while wearing it out shopping.
