Owner Review: Casio G-Shock GA-100 – A lovely beast

Casio G-Shock GA-100

I am sure everybody, not just the watch enthusiasts have heard about the popular watch brand; Casio and one of its unique lines the G-Shock series. Gs are the toughest watches ever made. The founder of G-Shock, Kikou Ibe wanted to make a watch that can’t be beaten and he did it. That’s why watches like the Casio G-Shock GA-100 are strictly tested to resist shock, vibration and extreme temperatures. Moreover, we get a 200m water resistance. Some of them are radio controlled, have a GPS or Bluetooth in it.

My Casio G-Shock GA-100L-8A does not have these fancy features, nevertheless, it knows how to survive and tell the time under any conditions. At least the hours and minutes. Do not look for the second hand because you can’t find it. Seconds are shown digitally. Yes, it has a digital screen too, which to tell you the truth is hard to read in direct sunlight. A cool thing for those who like a dual-display is that they can switch from showing the month and date to showing the time instead. Personally, I use this feature because I can have a connection with my watch when I want to know the date.

So the Casio G-Shock GA-100 can show the time and date while being indestructible. But what else do we get for the money? There is a stopwatch function, world time, light or auto light (not as good as the Casio Illuminators), alarm and countdown timer functions. You can even customize its outfit because there is a huge variety of aftermarket bezels and straps to choose from.

To sum up, the Casio G-Shock GA-100 is not perfect. However, I am happy with my tactical looking watch that makes me feel strong enough to get through the difficulties of everyday life.
