The Tissot PRX Chronograph is a newly released automatic chronograph in the modern Tissot PRX line. The current MSRP is $1750 USD. I am still in the honeymoon phase but I have been able to formulate some opinions about it.

Dial: sapphire crystal, silver dial with contrasting black subdials, rose gold hands with Superluminova, 4:30 date window.

The Tissot PRX Chronograph features a silver dial with contrasting black subdials under its sapphire crystal. This creates a panda effect that I find very desirable. I’ve always been fascinated with panda dials. The rose gold hands with superluminova help bring contrast and readability in both light and dark. People may not enjoy the rose gold hands on a silver dial, but I find it beautiful. The main issue I have with the dial is the 4:30 date window. I think it’s out of place. I would rather the watch not have a date dial at all.

Case size/bracelet: 42mm case diameter, brushed integrated bracelet.

The Tissot PRX Chronograph comes in at a 42mm case diameter, which makes it a larger watch, but it fits my 7 ¼-inch wrists well. Those with smaller wrists may find this case size to be too large. The watch features an integrated bracelet with brushed finishing. Although I am not a big fan of integrated bracelets, it is comfortable and sturdy. The downside is that it is a smudge magnet and scratches are extremely visible.

Movement/caseback: Valjoux A05 H31 movement (automatic winding) with 60-hour power reserve, exhibition case back.

The Tissot PRX Chronograph features the Valjoux A05 H31 movement (automatic winding) displayed through an exhibition caseback. I am a big fan of an exhibition caseback so this is a big plus. The movement includes 27 jewels and a respectable 60-hour power reserve. I believe that the Valjoux A05 H31 movement is a great option for this watch.

Overall, I would recommend the watch to those interested. Its pros strongly outweigh its cons.
