Owner Review: Seiko SNJ025P1 Arnie

Seiko SNJ025P1 Arnie

A watch that was in Commando and Predator known as the Arnie, the H558 inspired the release of the new Seiko SNJ025P1 Arnie H581, based on the old one that was and is much loved by many Seiko fans around the world. No more battery – power is now supplied by the smiling sun god. Yes, it is a solar powered watch. Hidden energy cells lay beneath the black dial. Bigger than the old one whose owner said “I’ll be back”. Here it is, returned. Some of the purists will hate the new ‘X’ logo in the middle of the dial. I’m not that worried about it as it’s not that noticeable to me.

As new it comes on a long rubber strap that holds the watch securely which matches the watch really well and is really comfortable to wear, as most rubber straps are. The big screw down crown matches the pusher buttons in size and design. These screw down pushers bring many functions such as stopwatch, alarm, date. Forty-six mil plus the pushers and crown mean that it’s not a small watch. The hard-plastic shroud wraps the case with a strong hand to keep it all safe.

This Seiko SNJ025P1 Arnie is great. You’ve got to appreciate the shoutout to Arnie. Janet will love it – she will love the eighties vibe. Just as I love her.
