Retrofuturism is a thing. Should Adam and Roman organize a 15 minute podcast on art movements that then gets a 4 hour commentary from R&R?

Does this need further comment?

This week produced with help from Superfan #1 @Pippy
MILTON RUM INDEPENDENTS CORNER

Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto
41 x 13mm grade 5 titanium case, 50m WR
2+ years of development, not counting (?) the development and production of the MS Bell movement for Meistersingers Bel Hora. Bridges, hammer and gong by Chronode who also have done parts and finishing for MB&F, Czapek and HYT. Dial made by Armin Strom. Laser cut parts like the dial side coupling and others beneath the platine designed and manufactured inhouse. No logo or text on the dial side. Would’ve likely been more legible if the bridge and wheel behind the hands were the same color as the dial rather than the same color as the hands.
Limited to 300 but sold out both in original blue as well as second run of green, 2995GBP  (5800 gumnuts)
Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force
41 x 12.65mm, 48.09mm lug to lug, grade 5 titanium case, 30m WR.
First ever Armin Strom Gravity Equal Force with Super-LumiNova®-filled applied indices and hands. Guilloché base plate and dial made by Comblémine. Slightly visually modified movement. Power reserve indicator integrated into the barrel, de-clutch mechanism. Official photography by friend of the show and previous guest @dagbert. Roman gets a shoutout on the official page as well, does that make him a sellout even if he just had a recorded chat with a mate for no financial gain?
image.png
Whilst Robs friends have 17 inch friends, Collective must be Alex friends considering the 17mm wrists. From the official website.

Power reserve indicator integrated into the barrel and an internal angle (out of 8)
Limited to 30 pieces, 25000USD

Ingenieux x HodieNFT Liason IL1007/T/NFT
“40mm” 316L stainless steel case, 50m WR.
Standard Sellita SW-200, “Guillochet Pantone 1837 C “turquoise” dial”. I’ve only ever heard “316L” – surgical stainless steel – be mentioned by Chinese and Hong kong based manufacturers. Despite all the (negative) publicity, all 99 pieces remain on the site where it is for sale.
In a world full of hate, there is still room to add loathing for this abomination
Romans comment on this

Alex preferred comment from generally opinionated and spiteful excellent macro photo- and videographer @watchdxb

100% Swiss Made according to the brand owner
Limited to “99” pieces not including no 00, 7000EUR (12000 gumnuts) no 00 sold for 28000CHF, 37700CHF (49000 / 65000 gumnuts) including fees in the auction where Fifth Wrist Crew member Garry-Anne @watchcharts contributed to the attempt of @horologicaldictionary to buy it with intent to publically destroy it. Friend of the show and previous guest Richard remarked on ABTW Weekly that this must be the most expensive watch with a standard Sellita SW-200 in history.

Speake-Marin x Watches of Switzerland One & Two Dual time
42 x 12.5mm, 53mm lug to lug (planet ocean 43 tier..) titanium case, 30m WR
Very nice signature shape wheel covered by ugly logo. Might be a sponsored post on Robéreport but I couldn’t find any other ‘journalist’ site not on the blacklist (H / T+T).
Limited and numbered to 10 pieces in each color, 35900USD (59000 gumnuts).

Yema Wristmaster Traveller Microrotor
39 mm x 43.5 x 12 mm stainless steel case, 100m WR.
EVERYONE LOVES A MICROROTOR
image.png
“Perfect for all wrist sizes” according to the brand, which provides total lug to lug including the stiff first links.
Pockets in the bezel will trap all kinds of gunk much like the older generations Vacheron Overseas. In-house Yema 2000 movement. 2000000EUR out of 50000EUR funding goal at the time of recording. Kind of Parmigiani Fleurier looking bridge designs. Allegedly -3/+7 seconds accuracy, 70 hour power reserve. The brands 5th kickstarter campaign.
Limited to 1850 pieces on kickstarter, 1499EUR (2550 gumnuts) Kickstarter price, 3000EUR (5100 gumnuts) “retail price”.
ALL THE OTHER SHIT

Omega Speedmaster Chrono chime
45×17.3mm sedna gold case, no statement on water resistance.
13 new patents for the METAS certified movement developed with Blancpain. Chimes the chronograph readout, not the time. Gong integrated into the case. Comes with a sound amplifying box and other guff. Gold plated hands (chrono hand would be too heavy, but apparently that means all of them should be plated?). Solid gold movement and case makes it 326 grams.
Limited to production capability of 5 per year, 450000CHF (780000 gumnuts)
Breitling Premier B21 Chronograph Tourbillon 42 (Breitling is the only watch brand owned by CVC Capital Partners, a Private Equity firm with ~300 Billion USD in assets and commitments)
42 x 15.25mm, 50.03mm lug to lug, rose/white gold / platinum case, 50m WR.
If the movement fills out the case so well, how come it is so thick? Bulgaris trick is to make wide and flat movements. Movement developed in cooperation with Citizen-owned La Joux-Perret.
image.png
Cockeyed 1o on the dial.
Not limited in any of the materials, 57000 USD (93000 gumnuts) in gold, 67000USD (110000 gumnuts) in platinum.
Casio A1000
39.6 x 38.0 x 7.3mm ion plated stainless steel case, 30m WR according to ISO 22810 which mandates that it’s actually usable at the rated depth. Few people dive further than 30m so this is also a pretty capable dive watch.
“The Premium module 3479 is accurate to ±15 seconds per month” That’d be 0.5 seconds per day, or about half what Richard Mille and Greubel Forseys top end experimental chronometry watches manage. Maybe Rob had any experience or inside knowledge on the RM031? Possibly more functions than the Omega X-33 Marstimer.
Picked with long time listener @TheWatchYeti and collectors of similar taste in mind. Can’t be all minute repeaters all the time even if this, like the Christopher Ward, chimes the hour.
99 / 150EUR (~200 / 250 gumnuts
Breguet Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia
35.8 x 10.46mm white gold case, 15m WR according to the manual (see page 8)
“Caseband, lugs and crown set with 63 baguette-cut diamonds and 1 briolette-cut diamond. Bezel set with 60 baguette-cut gems. Dial in mother-of-pearl set with 85 baguette-cut gems representing the Posidonia”. Just under 10 carats in total carat weight.
Not limited (still in the Breguet catalogue), 2022 price 300000CHF (520000 gumnuts)
Edox Delfin Mecano Automatic
43 x 12.5mm PVD coated stainless steel case, 200m WR.
image.png
Inspired by the Zenith Defy?
Not limited, 1590EUR (2700 gumnuts)
Grand Seiko SBGY011 “Asaborake”
40 x 10.5mm, 46.5mm lug to lug, stainless steel case, 100m WR.
Manual wind spring drive. Upgraded water resistance versus the similar Wristies 2021 Dress watch of the year winner SBGY007 Omiwatari
