Owner Review: Sinn «Römerberg 1739» by @nautec07

In 2025, I visited the “Time to Watches” watch fair in Geneva at Villa Sarrasin. For those who don’t know: “Time to Watches” takes place almost simultaneously with the watch fair “Watch and Wonders” and sees itself as a platform for independent brands alongside traditional watchmakers or unconventional designers.
And that’s how I came to the SINN booth. Of course, I already knew the brand before and put various models on my wrist, including the model 1739 in the civilian version with a blue dial and case made of solid silver. “Wow, super nice, if only the watch wasn’t BLUE” was my thought. And a few months later, SINN released the limited version of the 1739, the RÖMERBERG. This is a special edition for the 10th anniversary of the SINN branch in Frankfurt am Römerberg. Therefore now I wear the No. 3 of this limited series.

“car studio”

The name says it all: the dial picks up the visible signs of the local environment. The red dial reflects the sandstone façade of the building that houses the branch. Fittingly, the building is called “House of the Golden Wheel”. The appliqués appear to float on the dial, the gold tone also refers to the listed branch. Of course, the 39mm dial has a sunburst finish. And a transparent back with sapphire crystal. And the engraving of the “Römer” (town hall of the city of Frankfurt am Main) on the rotor, which, like the entire clockwork, is very beautifully refined. The case is made of stainless steel (which I actually prefer to silver), a Selitta 300-1 automatic movement ticks inside.

From my point of view, the watch is a real eye-catcher and shines with the sun, which is a joy. I find the burgundy Alcantara strap with folding clasp super comfortable – the fact that the color match between dial and bracelet cannot be achieved does not disturb the eye at all in my opinion. On the contrary, I think the combination is very successful. In any case, I mounted the black calfskin strap that is included in the set to get an impression – but the red strap is the only right one. At least that’s what I think.
Now I’ve had the watch for almost 9 months, here are my impressions:

Pros
– a real eye-catcher: floating golden appliqués on a red dial with sunburst finish
– Red with beautiful engraving and a finely finished movement, which you can look at through the glass back
– a comfortable Alcantara bracelet with a folding clasp

Cons
– due to the red dial, the use is a bit limited – it just doesn’t always fit!
– Nothing else comes to my mind
– Still nothing else comes to my mind {try harder; you can do it, if you really want 😉 (the editor)}
