Owner Review: Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M

Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M Co-Axial

Today we are going to talk about one of my favourite divers ever: the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M.

This story goes back to when I saw the James Bond movie Golden Eye as a kid, Pierce Brosnan wore his Seamaster with the characteristic waves on the watch face. I was so impressed that I said to myself “One day I will buy this watch “and I did it!

Although the version we are talking about 25 years later is a 3.0 version of the original watch, it now features the 8800 caliber. An in house movement (no longer ETA), Master Chronometer certified (METAS), with a 5 year warranty, 55 hours of power reserve and featuring 15.000 gauss antimagnetic resistance. It has an updated look with astonishing sea waves laser etched onto a ceramic dial that gives amazing reflections in daylight.

These were several of the reasons why I decided to pull the trigger on this diver rather than a Submariner or other models available in the market, specially at this price point.

The ceramic bezel is very clean and with these white inserts it is much more readable than the previous versions.
It has a 42 mm case, although wears more like a 40 mm due to the fact that the case is quite thin (very comfortable also with a suit). It perfectly meets its technical requirements as it is waterproof up to 300m, and has very good visibility in any condition as its indexes are impregnated with Super-Luminova. It features a comfortable extendable stainless steel bracelet in case a wetsuit is used or for cold/hot temperature changes.

Bottom line; this iconic Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M is a perfect piece in every sense of the word. I consider it to be a daily watch as it is suitable for any moment of our lives, whether for a more formal event or equally as suitable for leisure occasions and especially in this black version.
