On this episode of The Defining Time Show, Anthony and Alex are joined by V. V tells us a little bit about himself, how he got into the hobby and what it is like to be part of the Melbourne Watch Community. He also talks about working in a fashion watch shop and the different types of people that buy those types watches. Plus how that market for watches is influenced by the big boys in the Swiss Watch industry.
V also takes some time to tell us about a recent solo adventure that he went on and how it helped him bond more with his Rolex Explorer.
We get into bran heritage and what it means to the watch world. Does brand heritage bring anything to the art of watchmaking or is it just a way for the brands to save money and milk their past achievements, even if it is now a totally different brand. We talk about nostalgia and how it can be such a powerful thing when it comes to influencing people into making a big ticket purchase.
