Owner Review: Louis Erard Le Régulateur Gravé Noir by @nautec07

For professional reasons, I haven’t worn watches for 17 years. It was simply annoying to take the watch off and put it on again several times a day – despite the safety folding clasp, which scores with a certain comfort, among other things. Especially when on one day I got stuck with the case on a door frame, the watch was on the floor afterwards and I didn’t feel like wristwatches anymore.

At some point I decided to wear watches again. It all started with a more or less inconspicuous Tissot PR100 – and the train picked up speed …

In the meantime, some watches have already come together, I had a lot to catch up on. And so, after some time, the decision grew to have a watch with a regulator dial. It should look noble, and I didn’t want a watch with the equivalent of a kidney 😊. Thank God the question of mainstream does not arise with a regulator …

And so I noticed the Regulateur of Louis Erard from Le Noirmont in the Jura, first the “Le Régulateur Gravé bleu”, alternatively the “Le Régulateur Gravé noir”. The size of the watch is perfect with a diameter of 39mm, glass back, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides are combined with a reasonable price from my point of view. And 50m water resistance is also sufficient, with the watch you don’t go showering or swimming – and certainly not diving.

For further fascination, I would like to let the manufacturer speak: “This watch perfectly embodies the essence of Louis Erard, reinterpreting the classic sector dial while showcasing traditional engraving techniques.” There is nothing to add to that.

Louis Erard Le Régulateur Gravé Noir

Now to my impressions after 8 months of holding time – not wearing time, I change my watch after a maximum of 2 days, so a power reserve of 38 hours is completely sufficient for me.

Pros
– rose gold hands and indexes on anthracite-coloured dial – simply noble
– an incredibly soft calfskin strap
– the Regulateur is a real spectacle when you set the time (watch the hands!!!)

Cons
– the brand does not seem to be very well known
– unfortunately – or fortunately (LoL) – no retailer in Germany
– no GADA-watch …
