Meet my Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT.
I travel a lot, sometimes being in different timezones, I wanted a watch that could track at least two timezones.
The search began and while my eye always pointed to this Christopher Ward there was one thing I didn’t like, that being the logo in writing.
They always are changing up their logo and probably don’t know what works best. When I recently found out they changed the logo for this model, I couldn’t resist anymore.
Some specs for the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT.
A fixed 24 hour bezel, 316 anti-corrosive steel case, a polished black lacquered dial and a big orange GMT hand made it a very legible watch.
The case measures 39mm and is 12mm thick. It has a lug to lug of 45.6mm.
I think the combination of a black dial, and orange accents are well balanced and quite subtle.
With this ‘office GMT’, you can set the GMT hand instead of a jumping hour hand, giving you a better quickset date function in my opinion.
The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT has a sapphire crystal, and although the water resistance is only 150 meters, it has a screw-down crown to back this up, so you don’t have to worry when you go for a swim.
The Sellita SW330-2 has a power reserve of about 56 hours and a signed rotor that can be seen through the display caseback. Being a Sellita means that it can easily be serviced by the watchmaker of your choice.
The blue superluminova x1BLC1 is visible for a long time. I can still read the time after a good night of sleep.
If you get this one on the bracelet you won’t be disappointed. It has a ratchet clasp to adjust the size in seconds and quick release pushers to easily remove the bracelet and slap on another strap! (Don’t forget to bring 20 mm springbars of course because the bracelet springbars are fixed on the bracelet )
In my opinion the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT is the best ‘go anywhere do anything’ watch for the money. The pieces are also casual and this could probably also be your ‘one watch collection’.
(Who am I kidding)
When you buy it new directly on the Cristopher Ward website you get the 60/60 guarantee. This means you have 60 days to send it back if you don’t like it, and you have a 60 month warranty. That’s 5 years!!
For the money, you are getting a lot of watch.
I”ve had it on the wrist for 2 weeks now, sometimes when I listen carefully, I hear noises……. Noises coming from my watch box……. The sound of other watches not being worn!!!!
Thanks for reading, have a great day.
